Fort
Cornwallis, Lebuh Light
The fort was built on the site of Francis Light's historic
landing in 1786. Originally a wooden stockade, it was
replaced by a concrete structure built by convict labor,
in 1804. Today, an open-air amphitheater, a history
gallery and a handicraft and souvenir center occupies
the interior. It houses the famous Dutch cannon presented
to the Sultan of Johor by the Dutch and which finally
found its way to Penang after being looted by the Portuguese. |

Batu
Ferringhi Beach
A strecth of sandy beaches and tranquil
sea. It is a perfect place for sea sports, sun
bathing or pure relaxation. Aside from the Ferringhi
Beach, other beaches share the same shoreline
namely Tanjung Bungah and Teluk Bahang. Secluded
beaches can also be found but one may have endure
thrilling, jungle trails to get there. Among them
are Teluk Duyung, Monkey Beach and Pantai Mas. |

Bridge
Penang Bridge is the first and only road link
to the island from the mainland. Completed in
the September 1988 it stretches 13.5 km. from
Seberang Prai on the mainland to Gelugor on the
island.Penang Bridge - Middle Section. This
architectural wonder is officially acclaimed the
longest bridge in South East Asia region and the
3rd. longest bridge in the world. |

Botanical
Garden
Occupying 30 hectares of Penang's precious land, this
garden have a fine collection of the flora and fauna
of Malaysia and other parts of the tropics. There are
hundreds of tress and flowering plants and dozens of
plant houses and nurseries. It also have a fern garden,
Water Fountain & Lily Pond a cactus house, orchid
farm and lily ponds. The garden is also well known for
its friendly Rheses monkeys, visible even on the entrance
and also every where else in the garden. A favourite
spot for family picnics or outings |

Snake
Temple
Built in 1850 and dedicated to the deity Chor Soo Kong,
the temple is located 3.2 km from the Penang International
Airport. It is a sanctuary for pit-vipers said to be
the 'servants' of the deity. These poisonous snakes,
seen coiled round the pillars, beams and potted plants
within the temple are believed to be rendered harmless
by the smoke of the burning incense. |

Butterfly Farm
Located at Teluk Bahang, the Butterfly Farm has
hundreds of species of butterflies and insects
amidst landscaped tropical gardens. Opens daily
from 9am to 5pm
